0046 - Hot-Mix Asphalt Technician Trainee Course

Course Description

This is a 12-week, self-paced, online course designed to train individuals allowing them to work and learn under a sponsoring company for a maximum of one year to make sure they understand all aspects of Hot-Mix Asphalt Level I and are committed to the industry.  

Schedule:

Online Course Work:

Students can be registered at any point within the year.

Start Date: (Specific to individual students) Immediately upon reservations.  

• Student should receive an email with a link to Canvas LMS within an hour after the reservation is made.

End Date: 12 weeks after enrollment

Work-Based Learning:

After successfully completing the online course content, the student will be allowed to work in the industry and assist in the activities completed by an HMA Level I Technician.

Full Certification Requirement:

Upon completion of the work-based learning phase, the student must attend and obtain full certification. 

Required courses include:

1. Either CET-020, Mixture Aggregate Technician course or CET-021, Aggregate Technician course)

  and 

2. CET-029, Hot-Mix Asphalt Level I Technician course.

The Hot-Mix Asphalt Technician Trainee course continues for a maximum duration of one (1) year. If the student fails to comply with all phases, the sponsoring company can no longer retain the Technician Trainee for employment in this capacity.

No refunds or transfers will be authorized due to the start time and duration of the class.

• Hard copy: $70 plus tax (non-refundable)

Course manual can be purchased through the student's portal at https://learn.lakelandcollege.edu/portal/logon. 

• Once logged in, click the "Special Requests" link on the left
• Processing time: Manual will be mailed within 3-5 Business Days
• Manual will be sent via UPS Ground

Retest:

The student may retest the final exam on the online course work as many times as needed within their twelve (12) week time frame. If a student fails to meet the minimum requirements on the exam within those twelve weeks, he/she must be re-enrolled into the program, and the company will be required to pay the appropriate fee for the additional class.
