Course Description

Hot-Mix Asphalt Level I is a 5-day course covering Laboratory testing of HMA using SuperPave technology and information on the production of HMA. Successful completion will permit a technician to do the testing associated with contracts let under quality management programs.

According to new IDOT regulations, this course certificate will require re-certification every five years.

Notes

Students must attend the course in its entirety in order to sit for the exams. To miss, any portion of the class, the student will be considered as a "No Show" and will forfeit all exams.

This fee includes all exam fees and course manual.

Note: One copy of the course manual is included in the course fee and is distributed on the first day of class. However, if a student wishes to prepare ahead of time, the IDOT course manual may be downloaded from our website at no cost, or an additional hard copy may be purchased. See below for details.

Need to Retest?

A student will have one chance to retest on any failed IDOT exam at no charge. This retest must be completed by August 31st. To schedule a retest, please contact Kathy Willenborg @ (217) 234-5285.

Prerequisites

Either the CET-020, Mixture Aggregate Technician Course, or the CET-021, Aggregate Technician Course, must be successfully completed prior to taking the Hot-Mix Asphalt Level I course.
