Students will obtain information on the origin, handling and testing of aggregates. Upon successful completion of this course, a technician will be able to administer and do the testing required for an aggregate producer and/or supplier participating in the Aggregate Gradation Control System. This course, or CET-020, Mixture Aggregate Technician Course, is a prerequisite for Hot-Mix Asphalt Level I (CET-029) and is also required for PCC Level II (CET-024) certification. According to new IDOT regulations, this course certificate will require re-certification every five years. Students who possess a current Mixture Aggregate Technician certification and wish to get their 5-Day Aggregate Technician certificate need to register for CET-027, Mixture Aggregate Technician Upgrade Course. This course is a requirement for all technicians running a nuclear density gauge on asphalt. This course does not include safety training. Person completing this course will be able to do the mix testing for PCC on Quality Management projects and will also receive the certification from ACI as a Concrete Field-Testing Technician-Grade 1. This course is offered only for students needing ACI-Concrete Field-Testing Technician certification and IDOT certification. To be PCC level I certified, both IDOT and ACI must be successfully completed.  Student who possess a current ACI card and wish to get their IDOT certification need to register for CET-035, Portland Cement Concrete Level I-IDOT only . Upon successful completion of this course, technicians will be able to do the mix testing for PCC on Quality Management projects and take appropriate action if a problem is identified. This course is designed for students who are already certified as an ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician-Grade 1 and must be able to provide their ACI ID# when enrolling. According to new IDOT regulations, the IDOT certificate will not require re-certification, unless the student fails to keep the ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician, Grade 1 certificate up to date. The handling and testing of aggregates is covered. This course, or CET-021, Aggregate Technician, is a prerequisite for Hot-Mix Asphalt Level I (CET-029) and is also required for PCC Level II (CET-024) certification.
